Meals for Veterans
VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), American Legion and FireRock team up to feed veterans
In cooperation with FireRock Country Club, VFW Post 7507 asked American Legion Post 58 to join them in providing a meal for veterans, particularly veterans in need, at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 13th.
FireRock will provide up to 100 cooked meals (in bulk) consisting of Chicken Piccata over pasta, a vegetable medley and a lemon bar to the VFW and American Legion team who will then place in individual containers for distribution to veterans in the Fountain Hills area. The distribution will be from the American Legion Post 58 at 16837 Parkview Ave. Veterans receiving meals will drive up from the east to the rear parking lot (the big parking lot with the main entrance and flag poles) where a veteran volunteer will bring the meal(s) to the car in a non-contact manner. Veterans without transportation will have meals delivered to their doors in a non-contact manner.
Advance sign-up is required. Those desiring meals can sign-up by contacting Carl Krawczyk (VFW Post 7507 Quartermaster) at 480-215-3899 or c.krawczyk@hotmail.com or preferably by contacting John Schwab (VFW Post 7507 incoming Commander & American Legion Post 58 Sr. Vice Commander) at 575-791-5658 or schwabjb@yahoo.com. When signing up, please indicate if you need the meal delivered and, if so, provide an address. In the event that more than 100 veterans signup, priority will be given to those in need, so if you consider yourself in need, please so indicate when signing up . Sign-up by noon on Monday, May 11th is required.
The VFW and American Legion thank FireRock for this generous offer to support veterans.
